**Pattern Only** Lucky Stripes Hat
**Pattern Only** Lucky Stripes Hat
This is a fun hat for trying out different stitches of various heights. The, well, Lucky Stripe stripe around the crown is a cool bit of character in an otherwise standard-ish beanie. I used a second color to provide that pop, but you could just as easily go monochrome. This pattern is suitable for an intermediate crocheter, but a tenacious beginner could do this just as easily. And no, I’m not going to ask you if you feel lucky. I’m just not going to do it.
Materials
Yarn
Color A: Shaggy Bear Farms (Aran weight; 100% Blue Faced Leicester with Superwash; 182 yards per 102 grams); about 110 yards in mint
Color B: Quince & Co. Lark (Worsted weight; 100% American Wool; 134 yards per 50 grams); about 18 yards in Egret (101)
Yarn Substitution Note: Any worsted weight yarn can be substituted for the yarns used in the sample project. Please consider supporting independent dyers if you can, however. They make some really cool and unique yarns that will elevate your project into one-of-a-kind territory.
